Kent news: TUI travel agents armed robbery after two men ‘threatened staff with a gun’ | UK | News

Multiple members of female staff are believed to have been left “petrified” after the alleged armed assault. The incident took place shortly before 4pm this afternoon. It is understood the two men, who are feared to have had a gun with them, managed to make off with bundles of cash before police arrived at the scene.

The force are currently at the scene and there are no reports of any injuries.

A nearby shop owner told Kent Online: “We saw it all on our CCTV, there was a fat older man and someone that looked like a grandson, a young man, who were scouting out the area before they went in with a firearm, or replica firearm, and took all the currency the store had.

“You can see on the screen how the older man was walking back and forth, waiting for it to be empty.”

Police spokesman James Walker said: “At present no injuries have been reported and officers are in attendance conducting inquiries.”

This is a developing news story, more to follow.
