Liverpool transfer news: Takumi Minamino signing block separate Jurgen Klopp deal | Football | Sport

The signing of Takumi Minamino effectively ended Liverpool‘s interest in Milot Rashica, according to reports. The Werder Bremen forward has been scouted by the Reds this season, largely impressing in the Bundesliga.

The Japanese international can play anywhere behind the striker, including on the wing.

Jurgen Klopp is looking to bolster his attacking options this summer though.

He could lose Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for up to six weeks next January for the African Cup of Nations.

Therefore he is in the market for another attacker when the transfer window opens.

Liverpool need somebody who can challenge the current front three for a starting berth.

Rashica is not quite at the required level yet, but he could be available for £15million if Werder get relegated due to a clause in his contract.

His agent Altin Lala claimed last month that the player will make a decision on his future very soon.

“There are many clubs interested in signing Milot for next season,” Lala said.

“But for now, of course, it’s suspended. There are some things that need to be done discreetly.

“Hopefully next season, Milot will have the opportunity to play in the Champions League. This is mine and Milot’s topic at the moment.”
