Man Utd target Jadon Sancho picks next destination amid Borussia Dortmund transfer battle | Football | Sport

Manchester United target Jadon Sancho wants to leave Germany for the Premier League when the transfer window reopens this summer, reports say. The Borussia Dortmund star has been in electric form this season and has attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Manchester United wanted to sign Sancho back in the summer but, ultimately, their failure to qualify for the Champions League counted against them.

The 19-year-old has since flourished for Borussia Dortmund in January, scoring 14 goals and clocking up 15 assists from just 23 Bundesliga matches so far.

United believe Sancho is a player capable of thriving on the right flank, an area of the pitch that has been somewhat haunted since Cristiano Ronaldo’s time at the club.

And, in a boost to the Red Devils, Calciomercato claim Sancho has made the Premier League his No 1 choice for his next destination.

United will now fancy their chances of landing the England international, despite the fact he previously played for Manchester City.

But their path to the teenager is far from straightforward with clubs home and abroad ready to fight Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the winger’s signature.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard recently signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.

But the Blues would also like to sign Sancho and their cause is helped by how the Dortmund star grew up supporting the west London giants.

Real Madrid are admirers of Sancho, too.

They’re yet to really replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the Bernabeu for Serie A giants Juventus back in the 2018 transfer window.

And though they spent big on Eden Hazard during the summer, Real are another club firmly in the mix for Sancho’s signature.

“It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and players look at the future and how a team is trying to play.

“They want to talk to the manager as well about the prospects of the club.

“Probably every club will tell him the same story.

“But when you look at him and what he can do he can be a real big influence at United should he go there.”

Sancho isn’t United’s only summer transfer target.

The club are also eyeing Jack Grealish and Jude Bellingham, of Aston Villa and Birmingham respectively.
